Class Description:

Come join us for a Holster Design class dedicated to the female leather worker. We will be learning design principles that will enhance discreet carry options that work for both men and women. 

Everything begins with a pattern! George’s goal for this class is to give the students the tools they need to grow in the leather industry. Holsters are a fantastic addition to your leather product line and can give your shop retail stability in the current market. 

This class will be concentrating on the pancake holster. The pancake holster is defined by two pieces of leather (front and back) with a firearm sandwiched between the two. We will be designing both molded retention holsters and Thumb Break retention holsters. 

Students will design patterns for: 

1. Pancake Holster 8 degree 

2. Pancake Holster in a negative cant 

3. Pancake Holster with a thumb break 

4. Snapcake Holster 

There will be a critique and redesign session of your patterns, and you will have working patterns of your own design to take home and continue your gun leather building journey. 

Students will receive: 

1. A copy of George’s new book, Design and Construction of the Practical Leather Holster: Pancake Edition, that we will use as a textbook 

2.  A full set of acrylic holster design templates 

3.  Printed StitchTraces 

4.  Reference patterns 

5.  And, as an awesome bonus, one of our clicked-out holster kits! Take that holster kit home and either use the book as a construction guide or better yet, take the Pancake holster class on the Learn with Illume platform and build your own EDC Leather pancake holster along with George in the comfort of your own shop on us! 

6. An awesome skillset that will allow you to design your own holsters from the ground up.
